Terms and Conditions of Purchase
These terms explain how purchases work when you order a yurt from Yurt Specialists (trading name of Yurt Specialists Ltd). Please read them carefully before placing your order. By confirming a purchase, you agree to the terms below.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, or any other applicable legislation.

2. About Our Yurts
2.1 Handcrafted products:
Our yurts are traditionally handmade in Mongolia using time-honoured techniques. Because of this, each yurt is unique. Small variations in colour, finish, timber grain, or stitching are normal and should be expected. These do not affect performance or quality.
2.2 Materials:
We use locally sourced natural materials wherever possible. Timber types (such as elm, willow, or pine) may vary depending on seasonal availability. If a specific material is unavailable, we will use a suitable alternative of equal quality.
2.3 Transport and minor damage:
Yurts are carefully packed using felt protection, waterproof coverings, and wooden crates. While rare, minor cosmetic damage can occasionally occur during long-distance transport. This does not normally affect the structure or function of the yurt.
2.4 Bulk orders and port collection:
For bulk orders collected directly from the port, responsibility for the goods transfers to the buyer once collected. We strongly recommend arranging separate transport insurance from that point onwards.
2.5 Delivery times:
Estimated delivery dates are provided in good faith. However, international shipping is managed by third-party transport companies, and schedules can occasionally change due to circumstances beyond our control. We will keep you informed of any significant changes but cannot guarantee exact delivery dates. If we do not deliver within 30 days of the agreed date (or within 30 days of the order if no date was agreed), and delivery is essential, you may cancel the order and receive a full refund.
2.6 Damage during delivery arranged by us:
If we arrange delivery and damage occurs in transit, responsibility remains with us. You will not be asked to pursue shipping companies yourself.

3. Price and Payment
3.1 Quotations:
All quotations are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise in writing.
3.2 Deposits:
A deposit is required to confirm your order and secure your place in the production schedule. The deposit amount will be confirmed at the time of your order.
3.3 Ownership:
All goods remain the property of Yurt Specialists until full payment has been received.
3.4 Binding agreement:
Once an order is confirmed by us, these terms form part of the contract of sale.

4. Your Guarantee and After-Sales Service
4.1 One-year manufacturer’s guarantee:
All yurts supplied through our Mongolian workshop come with a **one-year guarantee** from the date of delivery. This covers manufacturing faults in materials and workmanship. It does not cover damage caused by misuse, lack of maintenance, normal wear and tear, or extreme weather events.
4.2 Your statutory rights:
The guarantee described above is provided in addition to — and does not replace or limit — your statutory rights. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described. If your yurt is faulty, not as described, or not fit for purpose, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund depending on how soon the fault is reported. In particular:
– Within 30 days of delivery: you have a short-term right to reject faulty goods for a full refund.
– Within 6 months of delivery: any fault is presumed to have been present at delivery, and you are entitled to a repair or replacement (and a refund if that is not possible or unsuccessful).
– After 6 months: you may still have rights, but you would need to show the fault was present at the time of delivery.

5. Your Right to Cancel (Distance Sales)
Because most of our orders are placed online or by telephone, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 give you the right to cancel your order without giving a reason. The following explains how this works.
5.1 Standard yurts (not made to your personal specification):
You have 14 days from the day after you receive your yurt to tell us you wish to cancel. You then have a further 14 days to return the goods. We will refund you within 14 days of receiving the returned goods (or evidence that you have sent them back), including the cost of standard delivery. You are responsible for the cost of returning the goods to us.
You may inspect the yurt as you would in a shop, but if the value of the goods has been reduced by handling beyond what is necessary to check them, we may deduct a reasonable amount from your refund.
5.2 Custom or bespoke yurts:
If your yurt has been made to your specific measurements or personalised to your individual specification, your right to cancel under these Regulations does not apply. We will make this clear at the time of your order.
5.3 Model cancellation form:
To cancel, you can use the model cancellation form below, or write to us clearly stating your wish to cancel.

5.4 If we have not informed you of your cancellation rights:
If we fail to provide you with information about your right to cancel, the cancellation period is extended to up to 12 months and 14 days from delivery. If we provide the information during that period, you will have 14 days from that point.

6. Cancellations Outside the Cooling-Off Period
If you wish to cancel your order outside the 14-day cooling-off period described in section 5 above:
6.1 If your yurt has not yet entered production, we will do our best to accommodate your request and will refund your deposit in full, less any reasonable costs already incurred by us (for example, shipping arrangements or materials already sourced).
6.2 If your yurt is already in production or has been completed, cancellation may not be possible. In this situation, we will discuss your options with you. Any refund offered will take into account the costs we have reasonably incurred.
6.3 Manufacturing delays:
If your yurt has not entered production and manufacturing is delayed by more than 90 days (excluding circumstances beyond our control), you may cancel your order and receive a full refund of any payments made.

7. Returns for Faulty Goods
7.1 If your yurt arrives faulty, damaged, or not as described, please contact us as soon as possible. We will arrange collection or inspection at our cost.
7.2 Your rights for faulty goods are set out in section 4.2 above and are not limited by any other term in this agreement.
—–
8. Force Majeure
We will not be held responsible for delays or failures in delivering your order caused by events outside our reasonable control. This includes (but is not limited to) extreme weather, natural disasters, pandemics, war, industrial action, shipping disruption, customs delays, or other international logistics issues. We will contact you to let you know if such an event affects your order and will take reasonable steps to minimise the delay. If the delay becomes excessive, you may cancel the order for a full refund.

9. Limitation of Liability
9.1 Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.
9.2 Subject to section 9.1, our total liability to you for any loss or damage arising from or in connection with the contract shall not exceed the total price paid by you for the goods.
9.3 We are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or loss of business opportunity arising from the contract.

10. Your Personal Information
We will use your personal information only to fulfil your order and provide after-sales support. For full details, please see our [Privacy Policy](https://yurtspecialists.com/privacy-policy-notice/).

11. Complaints and Disputes
If you are unhappy with any aspect of your purchase, please contact us first at info@yurtspecialists.com or by phone. We will do our best to resolve the matter promptly.
If we cannot resolve your complaint, you may wish to consider alternative dispute resolution (ADR). You can also contact your local Citizens Advice Bureau or Trading Standards service for guidance.

12. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
