Tim Rees isn’t your typical yurt owner — he’s the founder of Quality Unearthed, a UK-based travel and accommodation brand specialising in glamping and unique holiday stays, including yurts, treehouses, shepherd’s huts and cabins.
Quality Unearthed focuses on curating and supporting distinctive holiday accommodation in beautiful rural locations across the UK and beyond.
As part of running Quality Unearthed, Tim wanted to experience this lifestyle first-hand. Rather than simply promoting glamping from a distance, he chose one of our traditional yurts in 2011 as his home — living in it while continuing to run his business.
Tim didn’t just adapt to yurt living; he truly embraced it. Working, resting and hosting from the same space gave him a deep understanding of what makes a yurt comfortable, practical and welcoming — knowledge that later shaped a thoughtful glamping experience for guests.
