Here at Yurt Specialists, there is nothing quite like the feeling of seeing one of our traditional yurts come to life in the perfect setting. Today, we had the absolute pleasure of delivering a beautiful 6-meter yurt to the incredible team at Branches Out Forest School in the heart of the Forest of Dean.

Branches Out Forest School provides outstanding outdoor education, nurturing children’s curiosity, resilience, and connection to the natural world. Knowing that our handcrafted yurt will now serve as a warm, inspiring hub for their kindergarten, home education groups, and holiday clubs makes this particular project incredibly special to us.
A 6-meter yurt is a wonderful, versatile size—offering a spacious yet deeply comforting circular environment that perfectly mirrors the forest school ethos of community, inclusivity, and harmony with nature.

An installation day is always an adventure, but Kate and her amazing team completely blew us away. Raising a large, traditional yurt requires care, teamwork, and an eye for detail, and this crew handled it like absolute pros.
With very minimum guidance from us, Kate and her team put the yurt up beautifully, getting it completely right in one go, all in a single day.
Their efficiency, practical skills, and sheer teamwork were incredible to witness. It’s rare to see a team take to the traditional woodwork and heavy-duty canvas structure so naturally, and it speaks volumes about the hands-on, capable spirit that defines the Forest School. Working alongside Kate has been a joy from the start—her passion for her site and her community shines through in everything she does.
Looking to the Future: A Promise to Return
Our relationship with our yurts—and the people who look after them—doesn’t end when the final canvas is secured. Crafted with steam-bent woodwork and traditional techniques, our yurts are built to live, breathe, and weather beautifully alongside the landscapes they inhabit.
Because we care deeply about the longevity of our builds, we promise that we will be back to revisit their site in a couple of years. We can’t wait to check in on the yurt, see how the natural materials are adapting to the forest canopy, and, most importantly, hear all the stories of the learning, laughter, and community that have taken place under its roof crown.
